Title: R&D Mechanical Engineer (Implantable devices)
Location: Greater Turin, IT area (1 day remote)
Start Date: July/September target start
Duration: 12 months (with option to convert to perm)
Description: The client needs an experienced R&D/mechanical engineer to support R&D programs for active implantable device design, development and manufacturing. The candidate will be focused primarily on the mechanical components of the devices for the new products and R&D projects.
• Drive technical exchanges supported by design tools (CAD, simulation, statistics analysis) to proactively draw pragmatic conclusions, with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Build, monitor and maintain project plannings, budget allocations and action plans for the area of responsibility
• Execute the development process of new products and modifications of the existing ones, together with internal and external actors and stakeholders involved
• Create an exhaustive Design History File package for the area of responsibility
• Drive or support the creation of Device Master Record documents along with Operations
• Cooperate with Operations to design manufacturing processes and tools
• Support the manufacturing of prototypes and timely plan and execute risk mitigation activities
• Support with technical expertise and technical assistance to Production (including research of alternative sources, component/product disposition, changes management)
• Drive the design transfer process and provide training and expertise in the product ramp-up and marketed phase as appropriate
• Design of mechanical components and sub-assemblies
• Define and execute qualifications plan of product/components
• Lead the development of components and subassemblies with suppliers
• To participate to risk management plan and to technical files for Regulatory submission
• Support and spread within the team reverse engineering, feasibility studies, techno bricks, patent and standard watch processes
• Deploy a proactive continuous improvement mindset by identifying appropriate means and tools to optimize cost, manufacturability, performance and reliability of the products
Qualifications:
• Mechanical engineer (ME, Biomedical engineer, etc.)
• Italian speaker and able to go on site
• 5 years or more in mechanical development, with experience in design/validation (including CAD and technical documentation) and industrial environment (production) preferably on medical projects/products
