At Suanfarma, we are looking for an R&D Process Chemist to join our R&D team in Rovereto. The role involves designing innovative synthetic routes for generic APIs, as well as planning, conducting, and documenting experiments for R&D projects, technical service, and production support.

Responsibilities:
- Design innovative synthetic routes for generic APIs.
- Apply for patents related to innovative and non-infringing processes for the production of generic APIs.
- Draw and plan experiments for R&D projects, technical service, and production support.
- Prepare and execute experiments for R&D projects, technical service, and production support.
- Analyze and interpret results, draw conclusions, and write technical reports.
- Record results in laboratory notebooks and discuss findings with the direct manager.
- Retrieve chemical literature using the SciFinder database.
- Provide scientific and documentation support for new product launches, supervising the transfer from the R&D laboratory to production.
- Participate in project teams and functional/cross-functional discussions.
- Fully comply with responsibilities and authorities related to safety and quality.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Number of innovative synthetic routes developed annually that enable the industrial manufacturing of generic APIs.
- Timely completion of assigned tasks and projects.
- Accurate interpretation of experimental results.
- Precision in the planning and execution of experiments.
- Successful filing and approval of patent applications.
Profile Requirements:
We are looking for a technically skilled and results-driven professional with strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset. Key competencies include innovation, adaptability, planning and alignment, resilience, and a continuous learning attitude.
Ideal Background:
- Education: PhD in Organic or Synthetic Chemistry. Alternatively, a 5-year Master’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in chemical process development.
- Experience: Ideally 2 years in developing non-infringing processes for generic API manufacturing, preferably within API-producing companies.
- Skills: Solid knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g., LC-MS, HPLC, GC, DSC, NMR, XRPD) and strong practical laboratory skills.
- Languages: Fluent in English.
