We’re excited to be hiring an experienced Senior Renewable Energy Consultant with a focus on the Italian solar and storage sector . The position is based in Milan with flexible working after an initial period. You will be joining a growing and dynamic international team, already well established in the Storage and Solar sector in UK, France, Spain and Portugal and growing fast in Italy. You will be supported by our wider international team, already experienced in Wind, Solar and Energy Storage in Europe, bringing expertise to local teams in renewable energy projects.

  • Salary: A competitive basic salary related to your experience, plus pension scheme, annual profit share and route into company ownership.
  • Location: Milan, Italy, working in our Italian office. Remote working possible after initial office-based period.
  • Hours: Normal office hours with a healthy level of flexibility. Preference for 5 days per week but will consider candidates who would prefer part-time with a minimum of 4 days per week.

What you will be doing

  • Business development in the BESS and Solar sectors, building client relationships and winning work.
  • Leading technical and commercial due diligence for BESS, solar and hybrid projects/portfolios – both as a project director, project manager and in supporting roles. Specifically:
    • Assessment of risks that could affect the project or portfolio financial model, timeline, Capex, Opex, and proposing mitigation measures.
    • Assessment areas typically cover grid, route to market, land securement, administrative authorisations, environmental constraints, project design, tariff scheme, construction and operation contracts, project timeline, etc.
  • Bespoke owner’s engineer services.
  • Strategic work, participating in working groups within sector associations Everoze partners with.
  • Managing multiple projects with internal and external resources.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is motivated to take the next step in their renewables consulting career by building on their experience and network to become a highly recognised solar consultant with a reputation for delivering high quality work, meeting client expectations and a strong techno‑commercial understanding of projects.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Physics, Mathematics or similar.
  • Native/fluent in Italian and English.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in consultancy, including:
    • Knowledge of technical due diligence process and specific technical review areas for storage and/or solar PV.
    • Relationship building with new and existing clients leading to a growing pipeline of work.
    • Capability of reviewing typical renewable energy sector construction and operation contracts.
    • Capability of determining commercial implications of technical risks for different transactions (equity / debt etc.).
  • Good understanding of the Italian local requirements and country‑specific topics (grid, land, environmental, permits, hybridization with other technologies, etc.) in storage and/or solar PV.
  • Demonstrating good consultancy skills, for example:
    • Comfortable adapting work and priorities to meet deadlines / client needs.
    • Enjoys working as part of a team and supporting colleagues.
    • Able to write clear, concise and accurate reports in English.
    • Able to manage concurrent & different tasks and prioritise workload.
    • Track record of developing and building lasting client relationships.
  • Willingness to travel as part of project work.
  • Self‑driven and able to work at a commercial pace to meet our clients’ needs.

Nice‑to‑haves

  • Experience in other renewable technologies (in particular solar PV, wind).
  • Owner’s engineering, construction monitoring or asset management experience.
  • Expertise in French and/or German markets or in other European and worldwide markets.
  • Additional language skills (French and/or German).
