Our client, a global leading freight forwarder, is seeking a senior-level Sales Manager to drive commercial growth across North and North-East Italy. This is a strategic, high-impact role aimed at diversifying the client portfolio, bringing on new business, and managing key accounts within a competitive and fast-paced logistics environment.
With a strong international reputation for high-standard service delivery, our client specialises predominantly in air and ocean freight products, while also offering a broad range of tailored logistics solutions and value-added services.
This role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record in business development within the freight forwarding or logistics industry. In addition to an immediate focus on commercial growth, there is also possibilities to lead a small team as the role and region develop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities, targeting mid-size to large shippers across the assigned region.
- Diversify and expand the existing client portfolio, ensuring alignment with the company's global capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, acting as the main point of contact and strategic advisor.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Support and contribute to the regional sales strategy, reporting on market trends, forecasts, and pipeline performance.
- Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities to enhance market visibility.
- Possibility to build and manage a small commercial team in the future, supporting regional growth.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales, with a strong background in air and ocean freight.
- Demonstrated success in business development and key account management.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, strategic, and results-driven.
- Fluent in both Italian and English, written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel within North and North-East Italy.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid, flexible environment.
