We are seeking an SAP Basis Consultant to join our Team. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain the SAP environment, ensuring system performance, availability, and security. The role involves both hands‑on technical work and coordination with functional and development teams to ensure that all components of the SAP landscape are running efficiently. The SAP Basis Consultant acts as a key technical resource for the implementation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems.
Job responsibilities
- Perform daily SAP system checks and monitor system performance to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage and monitor SAP system landscapes, including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, CRM, SCM, and other SAP systems.
- Perform routine tasks such as system copies, patches, kernel upgrades, and database maintenance.
- Monitor system performance, conduct troubleshooting, and resolve issues to ensure SAP systems operate effectively.
- Implement SAP system backups and restore processes, ensuring data integrity and system availability.
- Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems, including new installations and upgrades for SAP applications, databases, and operating systems.
- Execute release upgrades and support package applications, ensuring compliance with SAP guidelines and best practices.
- Plan and conduct system migrations, both on‑premises and to cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud Platform.
- Plan and execute S/4HANA system conversion autonomously.
- Perform regular system tuning and capacity planning to maintain high system availability and performance.
- Analyze performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SAP systems for better efficiency.
- Work with functional teams to address system performance issues and fine‑tune configurations.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for SAP Basis‑related issues, coordinating with SAP Support and internal teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes following ITIL standards.
- Participate in on‑call rotations to provide after‑hours support as needed.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
- Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA systems, including installation, upgrade, and maintenance.
- Hands‑on experience with at least SAP HANA database.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud environments and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages for system administration tasks.
- Certifications in SAP Basis or related areas are preferred.
- Willingness to participate in on‑call rotations for after‑hours support.
- Ability to travel occasionally for training or business needs.
