Join Syngenta's Biologicals Research team in Atessa as a Scientist in Plant Transcriptomics. You will plan and execute genomics and transcriptomics experiments that fuel discovery and portfolio research projects - generating the reliable biological insights that drive our R&D forward.

This is a scientific role for someone with a strong foundation in plant molecular biology, a collaborative mindset, and the curiosity to work at the intersection of genomics, data, and innovation.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute plant genomics and transcriptomics experiments for discovery and portfolio projects
  • Apply technologies such as qPCR and RNA-seq to model plants and target crops
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of experimental approaches
  • Analyze, interpret, and present omics and biological data to multidisciplinary project teams
  • Collaborate with scientists, technicians, and cross-functional partners across global research teams
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and ethical standards

What We're Looking For

  • PhD in Plant Biology, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–4 years of hands‑on laboratory experience in plant genomics and transcriptomics
  • Experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary research projects
  • Plant molecular biology, genomics, and transcriptomics
  • Gene expression regulation and RNA biology in plants
  • Omics data generation, analysis, and interpretation

Skills & Mindset

  • Strong experimental design and data analysis skills
  • Clear scientific communication - able to present complex data to mixed audiences
  • Organised, able to manage priorities and deliver results on time
