Role Description
The Security Governance & Compliance Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Catania. The specialist will design, implement, and maintain security governance frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Daily activities include conducting risk assessments, monitoring compliance with internal and external security obligations, and coordinating remediation actions with technical and operational teams. The role involves preparing and maintaining documentation, reports, and dashboards on security posture and compliance status, as well as supporting internal and external audits. The specialist will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to promote security awareness, advise on secure practices for projects and operations, and continuously improve security controls and governance processes.
Qualifications
Strong cybersecurity and information security skills, including risk assessment, policy development, and security control implementation.
Experience with network security practices such as firewall management, segmentation, secure configurations, and monitoring.
Knowledge of physical security principles, including access control, surveillance, and protection of critical infrastructure.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders and produce clear documentation.
Familiarity with security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and governance frameworks.
Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor) are an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
