Are you an experienced accountant ready to take ownership and grow with an international logistics company? Atlantic Gate is expanding, and we are looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join our team in Genoa.
You’ll be part of a small, ambitious, and internationally connected team, playing a key role in shaping financial processes and supporting our growth in Italy and beyond.
Your Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the financial operations of the Italian entity within Atlantic Gate. You will support management with accurate reporting, compliance, and financial insight, working closely with HQ and external partners.
This role offers visibility, responsibility, and room to grow in a dynamic international environment.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure compliance with group policies, Italian regulations, and financial reporting requirements
- Record, maintain, and reconcile all financial transactions
- Reconcile accounts and investigate variances
- Review shipment job costing and analyze deviations
- Prepare periodic financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet)
- Handle statutory filings (VAT, WHT, CIT or local equivalents)
- Support month‑end closing and reporting to HQ
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Compute taxes and liaise with banks, customers, vendors, and tax authorities
- Conduct internal audits and resolve discrepancies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and management decision‑making
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or controlling
- Strong hands‑on experience with financial statements and reporting
- Sound knowledge of local GAAP and statutory requirements
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Hands‑on, proactive mindset and team‑player attitude
