Tasks and Qualifications
Core Responsibilities
- Trusted adviser and subject matter expert in mobile robotics both to clients and internal teams.
- Create compelling solutions for clients that drive their decision to select Dematic.
- Oversee designs of the most complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
- Create recommendations related to productivity improvement, schedule reduction, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
- Guide technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design Engineers.
- Provide detailed new equipment and acceptance testing specifications.
- Thoroughly characterize and document the baseline performance and capability of each system to maintain system performance to the documented baseline.
- Assist technical writers in developing and maintaining effective operations and maintenance specifications.
- Execution and/or assistance on AMR Risk Assessments (RA).
- Collaborate with Project Execution and R&D engineers for application of safety norms, proposing and/or reviewing solutions as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of basic Directives and Standards: Machine Directive 2006/42/EC, ISO , ISO 13849-1:2016 and ISO 13849-2:2013, IEC 60204:2018, ANSI B11.0, ANSI B11.19, ANSI B11.26.
- Experience with execution of Risk Assessments.
- Knowledge of electrical controlling systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and performance integration-related applications.
- Passion for standards and rules with the skill to translate the requirements into clear instructions for your stakeholders.
- 3–5 years of mobile automation Application Engineering and Deployment experience.
- 5–10 years of automation hardware/software experience.Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Expert level understanding of the principles used in electronic/electrical systems, mobile robotic systems (onboard and offboard software), 2D and 3D vision systems, fixed transport systems, and data collection systems.
- Strong “hands‑on” capability in the installation and commissioning of mobile / robotic systems in a production environment.
- Ability to evaluate, test, and validate a comprehensive mobile automation software stack and associated electronic components.
- Proficient in creation of schematics using AutoCad EPlan.
- Having CMSE® and/or CECE® certificates.
- Knowledge of IBF “Safexpert”.
- BGIA SISTEMA.
- Knowledgeable in ANSI B56.5, ISO 3691-4:2020, and the other standards of the ISO 3691 series.
- Knowledgeable in the use of test equipment and calibration associated standards.
- Proficient with PLC programming (Rockwell or Siemens).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, reasoning and problem‑solving skills; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Travel Requirements
Up to 20% national/international travel.
