Role

Are you a skilled IC designer ready to tackle the technical challenges of next-generation electronic systems? The Chips-IT Foundation seeks a Senior Research Engineer with a strong background in analog and mixed signal IC design to lead pioneering development of integrated circuits for applications in advanced communication, data conversion, and sensor interfacing systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead R&D activities on analog and mixed signal integrated circuits for advanced communication, data conversion, and sensor interfacing systems.
  • Architect, design and validate complex analog and mixed signal systems in advanced technologies.
  • Guide system-level integration with innovative packaging approaches.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the innovation strategy.
  • Supervise Master’s and PhD students.
  • Protect intellectual property and publish impactful research.
  • Track emerging trends to shape future research directions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Master's degreein Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar, with specialization in analog and mixed signal IC design.
  • Track record of analog ICs successfully completed from definition to tape-out and industrialization.
  • Deep knowledge of IC design and simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso IC Suite, Siemens EDA Solido, etc..).
  • Thorough understanding of silicon processes and advanced packaging.
  • Hands-on experience with test lab validation and measurement instrumentations.
  • Experience in driving and supervising analog layout design.
  • Leadership mindset, strong communication skills, and ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Visionary, independent thinker with a drive for technological excellence.

The Foundation “Italian Center for the Design of Semiconductor Integrated Circuits,” also known as the Chips-IT Foundation, is a nonprofit research and technology organization under the supervision of the Ministries of Industry.

The Foundation is Italy's first RTO (Research and Technology Organization) vertically focused on semiconductor research and stands as a center of excellence in frontier research on semiconductor design, as well as a pivotal center of the Italian semiconductor ecosystem and expertise.
