Senior Backend Developer

Project description

We are looking for a strong Python Developer with database expertise to join a banking project. The role focuses on backend development, infrastructure as code, and cloud-based solutions within a regulated financial environment. The ideal candidate combines hands‑on development skills with solid database knowledge and understands the quality, security, and compliance standards required in enterprise banking systems. Most Important: Python, Terraform, GCPA plus is if: great SQL skills, experience with API Based Customer Search services/backendsGerman language (nice, but not needed)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using PythonBuild and maintain infrastructure using TerraformDevelop and operate cloud-native solutions on GCP (Google Cloud Platform)Work with relational databases (design, optimization, query tuning)Implement secure, scalable, and maintainable solutionsContribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation processesCollaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholdersEnsure compliance with banking security and regulatory standardsSupport production systems and participate in incident analysis when needed

SKILLS

Must have

• Strong experience with Python (backend development, APIs, services)Hands‑on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)Practical experience with GCP Solid understanding of database systems and data modelingExperience working in enterprise or regulated environmentsUnderstanding of secure coding practicesExperience with Git‑based workflows and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have

Advanced SQL skills (query optimization, performance tuning)Experience with API-based Customer Search services or similar backend systemsKnowledge of RESTful API design principlesExperience with monitoring/logging toolsExperience in banking or financial services domainGerman language skills (beneficial but not mandatory)German Language
