Role Purpose

We are looking for a Senior Consultant who combines a strong business orientation with a "hands-on" operational drive . This is a high-responsibility position for a professional who can master the entire value chain of the service : from granular data management to high-level industrial policy analysis. The ideal candidate is a seasoned consultant who "owns" the process , ensuring total reliability in delivery and providing the client with deep analytical insights. This position offers a unique opportunity to become a niche expert in ESA industrial policy and geo-return implementation . You will work at the intersection of strategy and execution, securing the knowledge transfer from G-nous top management, while working closely with ESA officers within a high-level international network.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead analytical activities , looking beyond raw data to translate complex institutional information into strategic insights for ESA stakeholders, ensuring that analysis leads to concrete , data-driven decisions .
• Act as the accountable expert for business operations, ensuring integrity and workflow efficiency through a direct, hands-on approach to information systems.
• Audit , map and redesign existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and optimize overall performance.
• Produce "consulting-grade" deliverables , distilling complex operational realities into high-impact narratives for ESA top management .
• Structure and formalize business knowledge , operational and calculation rules into ordered documentation sets to ensure internal preservation and rapid knowledge sharing.
• Act as the final filter for all service outputs, ensuring every analysis is technically flawless and strategically aligned with client objectives, bridging the gap between micro-operations and macro-policy .

Required Profile

• Master’s degree in Management Engineering , Economics , Business Administration , or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years in management/operational consulting , business process re-engineering (BPR), or large-scale ERP implementation projects , accustomed to high standards, rigorous methodology and absolute precision.
• Proven ability to navigate and interpret the procedures and formal mechanisms typical of large international organizations.
• Exceptional ability to rapidly master complex institutional procedures and technical frameworks, combined with the intellectual depth to understand underlying business drivers and historical context.
• Proficiency in leveraging classic and advanced productivity tools and augmented workflows to enhance data modeling and executive storytelling. We value the ability to produce superior outputs through smart, efficient use of current technologies.
• Strong familiarity with navigating and managing complex IT Information Systems (e.g., ERPs, databases). You understand system logic and data flows from a business user’s perspective.
• Seniority to engage with top-level stakeholders balanced with the pragmatism to manage granular operational tasks personally.
• Exceptional numerical logic and familiarity with business controlling principles , combined with strong memory and a natural focus on detail.
• Advanced process mapping and optimization skills , including proficiency with dedicated modeling tools , focused on practical efficiency and real-world implementation rather than abstract theory.
• "Thinker-Doer" mindset : the ability to see the big picture without losing sight of the operational details.
• High level of autonomy and a strong sense of accountability for the end result.
• The work is primarily conducted in English , requiring full professional fluency to draft complex documents and lead international meetings. An advanced or native-level proficiency in Italian is also essential.

Compensation

Salary and benefits will be commensurate with the candidate's actual experience and seniority .

Place of work

The role is based in Bari (Italy), with the possibility of remote work to be evaluated. It includes missions to ESA establishments , primarily at HQ in Paris and ESTEC in Noordwijk .
