Senior Buyer Electric & Automation

SMS group is looking for a Senior Buyer with solid experience in strategic purchasing of electrical equipment and industrial automation systems , to strengthen its procurement team and support the development of innovative solutions in the plant engineering sector.

Main Responsibilities

• Strategic management of procurement processes for electrical components, control panels, and automation systems;
  
• Identification and qualification of new suppliers, including participation in technical audits and evaluation processes;
  
• Negotiation of contractual terms and drafting of globally valid supply agreements;
  
• Collaboration with technical and engineering teams to ensure alignment between technical specifications and purchasing solutions;
  
• Definition and implementation of sourcing strategies for assigned material groups;
  
• Monitoring supplier performance and implementing improvement plans;
  
• Cost analysis and benchmarking of relevant market opportunities;
  
• Development andexecution of cost reduction programs and purchasing process optimization;
  
• Support in reporting and monitoring of the “Performance and Profitability” program.

Requirements

• Preferred Degree in electrical engineering, automation, industrial engineering, or economics;
  
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic purchasing within industrial environments, with a focus on electrical and automation components;
  
• Good Knowledge of purchasing contractual and commercial terms;
  
• Knowledge of electrical technologies and industrial automation systems;
  
• Ability to readand understand technical specifications;
  
• Strong focus ontargets, processes, and quality;
  
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  
• Preferred knowledge of SAP (or other ERP systems) and digital procurement tools;
  
• Excellent knowledge of IT tools (MS package)
• Fluent in written and spoken English;
