Senior Commodity Buyer

Nidec Conversion is looking for COMMODITY SENIOR BUYER PCBA&SEMICONDUCTORS located in Milan.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Commodity Senior Buyer - PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) & Semiconductors will report to the Global Procurement Director of Nidec Conversion. He/She will coordinate the procurement and supply chain activities related to PCBA and semiconductor components, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials while maintaining high-quality standards. The Commodity Coordinator will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain process, manage inventory levels, and support new product development initiatives.

DAILY TASKS AND MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

• Define and implement the global procurement strategy to secure the commodity target in term of cost reduction, OTD, cashflow and quality.

• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the business

• Implement cost reduction initiatives and track progress against targets.

• Lead commodity reviews to report the business status to the management. • Analyze cost drivers and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions.

•Coordinate the procurement process for PCBA and semiconductor components, ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules.

• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost targets.

• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues or non conformances.

• Support supplier quality audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to support new product introductions.

• Provide input on component selection and availability during the design phase. EDUCATION AND

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the electronics or semiconductor industry.

• Knowledge of PCBA and semiconductor components and their supply chain.

• Proven experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
