Senior Depot Engineer

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Depot Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Piossasco (TO), Italy .

Accountabilities

• Ensure identification and resolution of the interfaces of depot equipment and service vehicles with the main subsystems (e.g. Signalling, CW, Power supply, etc.).
• Review technical documents of design from suppliers.
• Act as technical focal point for depot equipment and service vehicle requirements to customers.
• Witness factory tests of supplier machines, assuring compliance with design requirements and procedures, and execute Verification activities on Depot documents according to the V&V Plan.
• Manage customer relationship as technical focal point in terms of depot equipment and service vehicles requirements.
• Identify and solve interfaces of depot equipment and service vehicles with the main subsystems (e.g. Signalling, CW, Power supply, Passenger Vehicles, etc.).
• Supervise on-site installation activities of the supplier, ensuring compliance with the design and interfaces.

Required skills and knowledge

• Knowledge of maintenance needs of a railway system with focus on the maintenance of the train.
• Knowledge of working principles of railway vehicles.
• Knowledge of machineries.
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematic principles.
• Familiar with AutoCAD.
• Experience working at site (testing and commissioning of depot equipment).

Education / Qualifications

Technical Degree or Equivalent Technical Background.

Languages

English Proficiency.
