Position
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our Electronics Department, located in Asolo. In this role, you will not only be able to elevate our products to a new level by delivering and maintaining embedded firmware for our electronic products, working cross-functionally within the team and ensuring compliance with our high standards of performance and quality. Moreover, you will be responsible for the coordination of a small team of both Hardware and Firmware Engineers.
Main Responsibilities
- Working closely with our hardware engineers, so to define firmware requirements and specifications, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of firmware for our Tech Air products.
- You will build scalable, robust and secure firmware solutions, and perform code reviews and software testing activities to ensure the desired level of functionality and performance.
- You will be responsible for debugging activities and solving any potential software-related issues in a timely manner.
- You will coordinate a small team of both Hardware and Firmware Engineers, as well as coach more junior profiles.
- You will lead the continuous improvement of our software development process and support in delivering firmware-related technical documentation.
- You will keep yourself up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends within the embedded software sphere.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other relevant fields.
- Minimum of 8+ years' experience in firmware development using C language within embedded systems.
- Proven working experience and in-depth knowledge of the STM32 microcontroller family, STM32 IDEs, and its structure and memory organization.
- Strong experience with real-time operating systems for embedded firmware (e.g. RTOS).
- In-depth knowledge of sensors, related software and hardware, and main communication protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN Bus, UART and USB).
- Previous working knowledge of electronics testing equipment such as oscilloscope.
- Basic cybersecurity best practices knowledge.
- Strong communication skills, proactive attitude, and excellent cross-functional collaboration expertise.
- Previous team coordination expertise and experience in coaching juniors.
- Fluency in English.
- Availability to travel occasionally.
