Senior Engineer, Product Design and Engineering - Systems
The Senior Engineer, Product Design and Engineering - Systems is responsible for guiding Systems Engineering activities for New Product Development (NPD) programs and product lifecycle support. This role works closely with the Program Manager, Product Leader, and cross‑functional teams to drive adoption of Systems Engineering practices, ensuring execution excellence across NPD initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical owner and design authority for assigned programs, acting as the prime technical interface.
- Define and coordinate Engineering resources and activities, including the Engineering Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and monitor design progress throughout program lifecycles.
- Develop and maintain product functional architecture, product breakdown structure (PBS), physical architecture, system interfaces, requirements allocation, and verification & validation.
- Translate product requirements into system and subsystem requirements, ensuring the Product Development (PD) process is followed and required technical reviews (design, risk, manufacturability, supply chain) are performed.
- Report program status and risk at regular intervals, perform patent searches, and ensure technical regulations are met.
- Coordinate with procurement for technical content of offers, evaluate and select suppliers, applying rigorous cost analysis practices.
- Support the new product commercial team during demand to inquiry (DTI) and ITO phases, acting as the main technical interface for customers for new products and technologies.
- Provide timely communication to executive management on technical, program, organizational, and resource matters.
- Stay current with Systems Engineering state‑of‑the‑art, promote adoption, and contribute to company initiatives such as the SEP board.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Energy, Chemical Engineering, or a related accredited field.
- Proven experience in Turbomachinery engineering, Process/Plant engineering, or related technologies with a strong technical background.
- Demonstrated systems engineering competencies with the ability to lead projects or programs.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent knowledge of at least one of the following products or solutions: Gas Turbines, Compressors, Expanders, Steam Turbines, or Plant Solutions.
- Clear thinking and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Self‑disciplined, self‑starter, capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to build effective teams and solve problems.
- Fluent in English (written and oral).
- EU work permit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma certification.
- INCOSE SEP certification.
