RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Estimating Consultant to join its office in Genova or Napoli, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

The Senior Estimating Consultant is responsible for drafting survey and subdivision plats and technical specifications under the supervision of the Director of Survey. The role may have matrix reporting to the Project Manager. The Project Surveyor oversees the technical work of staff surveyors and is involved in QA / QC and cost estimation processes. Responsibilities include traveling to project sites to facilitate geodetic control, topographic, utility, and boundary surveys, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with project stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop budget forecasts.

Budget Management :

  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets.
  • Report on cost variations and recommend cost-effective solutions.

    • Survey :

  • Conduct physical site surveys using appropriate equipment.
  • Survey and investigate land surfaces for precise measurements and locations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and legal boundary calculations.

    • Quantity Takeoff and Measurement :

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings.
  • Verify and measure work on-site for progress and billing.

    • Contract Administration :

  • Assist in preparing and evaluating tender documents and contracts.
  • Review contractual terms related to costs and quantities.

    • Documentation & Reporting :

  • Generate reports on project costs and performance.
  • Maintain engineering documents and identify cost risks.
  • Develop strategies for cost risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate with engineers and support staff on standards and policies.
  • Compile legal boundary reports and collaborate on cost-effective design solutions.

    • Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of surveying experience.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software and survey equipment.
  • Familiar with CAD and land development software.
  • US candidates : FS exam or EIT certification preferred.

    • Education

    Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Civil Engineering, or related fields in Engineering or Mathematics.
