For our site in Collecchio (PR) we're searching for a qualified and resourceful Senior Field Service Technician - USA. After six months to one year of training in Collecchio headquarter, the employee will be relocated to our Hickory (North Carolina – USA) plant.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Field Service Technician must have experience in a manufacturing sector and be able to perform mechanical, electrical, and preferably electronic interventions on complex automated industrial systems. They act as an interface with the customer for on-site activities and are responsible for ensuring excellent service in terms of punctuality, precision, and effectiveness. They carry out periodic calibration plans and scheduled visits at customer sites. They must be available for urgent interventions when necessary.
In particular:
- Perform post-installation assistance on very complex automatic machines at customer sites.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/electronic faults and install related components to resolve issues.
- Ability to use measuring tools for verification and calibration.
- Competence in performing small/medium installations of additional plant components.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the United States, either alone or in a team.
- Participate in problem analysis and contribute to defining action plans.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through accurate data collection and intervention analysis.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
- High school diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of measurement and calibration instrumentation is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with customers.
- Ability to manage own work independently with the primary goal of customer satisfaction, and make effective decisions.
- Excellent listening skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Natural predisposition to teamwork, focused on achieving team goals.
- The position requires experience, initiative, ingenuity, and the ability to work independently to produce the highest level of quality and productivity according to established standards. Self-motivated and multitasking-oriented.
- Good knowledge of computer systems.
- Attention to details.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate.
TRAVEL
Frequent business travels within the United States are required, for approximately 80-100 days per year.
After six months to one year of training in Collecchio headquarter, the employee will be relocated to our Hickory (North Carolina – USA) plant.
