The Senior Finance Manager oversees the organization's financial health and performance, leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision‑making. The role ensures compliance with financial regulations, develops internal controls, and drives process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy. The Senior Finance Manager reports to the Managing Director – Italy and is responsible for the European Administration & Accounting department.
Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Lead the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long‑term financial plans. Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Managing Director to support strategic decisions.
Financial Reporting
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the relevant standards and internal procedures. Present financial performance reports and variance analysis. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Accounting & Compliance
Maintain compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies. Work closely with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
Business Partnering
Collaborate with business units to evaluate financial performance, investment opportunities, and cost optimization initiatives. Support cross‑functional teams with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
Strategic Initiatives
Drive process automation and digital transformation within the finance department. Participate in strategic projects such as M&A analysis, capital allocation, and risk management.
Qualifications
- University degree in Business, Management, or Finance (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Excellent people skills, experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the industry sector.
- Experience with legal, audit, compliance, and budgeting functions.
- Strategic financial planning and analytical mindset.
- Resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
- Proven effectiveness leading finance and accounting professionals.
- Flexible, self‑starter, able to multitask while highly detail‑oriented.
- Languages: English very good (verbal and written).
- Advanced computer skills – MS Office, ERP, and DMS.
- Ability to prepare reports and communicate data effectively, making strategic recommendations based on data and trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
