Senior Mechanical Engineer CO2 Compressor – Carbon Capture

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the execution of the CO2 compressor.
- Define work packages, write specifications for scope and services, prepare request for quotation documents, conduct technical supplier meetings, select suppliers, and ensure expedition of lots.
- Coordinate and supervise concepts, basic engineering and persuade counterparts even in controversial discussions; support the team cross‑functional in the area of carbon capture and ensure interfaces and concept requirements of the different systems match.
- Clarify interfaces with other disciplines (civil, steel structure, construction, electrical & instrumentation, plant layout) and integrate the lot in the plant.
- Drive active collaboration with the plant design (installation of components and pipe routing).
- Ensure supplier compliance and receive engineering documents in due time; check, comment and approve them and distribute to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with respect to the responsible systems (lots).
- Support the construction and commissioning team, mainly from the office.
- Willingness to travel 10‑20 % of time to suppliers or on site.
Qualifications
- Trained Mechanical Engineer (Bachelor or Master degree) with 5 + years’ experience within the power generating and turbo machinery industry.
- Experience with one or more types of industrial compressors (axial, centrifugal, reciprocating) is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of different industrial plant processes, mechanical equipment, components and systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Strong coordination and negotiating skills paired with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders on different levels (procurement, suppliers, site staff).
- Structured, precise, self‑driven, positive and responsible personality.
- Fluency in English; German knowledge is a plus.

Compensation
Basic wage component (gross): 59 000 EUR per year.
This amount is our minimal offered salary. Compensation is determined based on your level, skills, experience and qualifications.
