Senior Operating System Engineer – Kernel / Linux / OS / Automotive

We are a global technology leader investing heavily in R&D for automotive operating systems. We seek a highly experienced Senior Operating System Engineer with a background in Linux Kernel development and OS development.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize Linux kernel and OS components.
• Design and implement software solutions for next‑generation cockpits and autonomous driving systems.
• Perform low‑level tuning for CPUs, GPUs, and embedded AI applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s degree.
• 4–5+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with Linux development, Linux kernel, and/or Linux drivers.
• Experience with C or C++ and developing new features.
• Experience with low‑level optimization for embedded systems.
• Automotive software development/architecture design experience.

Location & Compensation

Full‑time, permanent position based on‑site in Pisa, Italy. The role also offers the possibility to work from the Milan office most of the month with a monthly visit to Pisa. Salary range: €70,000–€95,000 base + bonus.
