Job Description:
Steer is seeking a Senior/Principal Consultant to bolster our Advisory Team in Italy. This role involves supporting both public and private sector clients, including local public transport operators, concessionaires, investment funds, financial institutions, and public authorities.
The candidate will engage in various projects, providing strategic, economic, and financial advice related to public transport service concessions, fleet renewal/acquisition, and the implementation of mass rapid transit systems.
Key responsibilities include conducting strategic, market, and technical analyses, and managing projects within the bus and rail sectors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, strong critical thinking, and a collaborative team approach.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the transport sector, with a strong understanding of public transport, including rail and bus.
- Proven project management skills, ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality standards.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills.
- Strong report writing skills, with the ability to develop logical, structured narratives.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex analyses to non-technical audiences and liaising effectively with clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills, effective time management, and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive, self-initiating work style, with the ability to work independently.
- Fluency in Italian and English is required.
- Experience in transport consultancy is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Familiarity with transport planning and scheduling software (e.g., Optibus, Maior, IVU) is preferred.
Education:
- A degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience in infrastructure and transport projects.
