THE ROLE
Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the Senior Product Developer WW Shoes plays a crucial role in bringing Loewe's innovative shoe collections to life. This position demands exceptional precision, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding communication skills. The Developer will be responsible for the accurate and timely management of all product development information for their assigned collection, ensuring seamless collaboration and information flow with all internal and external stakeholders.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Meticulous PLM System Accuracy
- Ensure absolute accuracy, completeness, and real-time updating of all information within the PLM system for assigned styles, including style creation and coding, technical specifications, material details, development status, color references, and BOM management.
- Manage the opening and coding of new styles and coordinate the creation, population, control, and maintenance of BOMs in close collaboration with the Technical Office and Industrialization teams, ensuring full consistency and alignment between technical data, components, and development requirements.
- Perform BOM checks for pre-buy and production phases in order to anticipate missing lines, inconsistencies, or required modifications, ensuring data accuracy and smooth operational execution.
- Ensure all changes, revisions, engineering updates, and color adjustments are promptly and accurately reflected in the PLM system, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies to safeguard data integrity and support cross-functional collaboration throughout the development process.
Precise Product Development Execution
- Execute the development process for the assigned collection, from initial design concept through to final sample production, ensuring the creation and constant updating of supporting Excel files to guarantee proper timing management and an efficient flow of information across all departments involved.
- Create and maintain the Excel Color Check file for all components, ensuring accurate preparation and alignment for meetings with Design and Product Development teams.
- Launch and follow up on all color adjustments related to materials and components for production, ensuring compliance with timing targets and alignment with approved master references.
- Collect, monitor, and accurately manage cost information related to components, semi-finished materials, and processing costs throughout the development process, proactively evaluating technical or sourcing alternatives to optimize the quality/cost ratio, and ensuring data availability and accuracy in support of the Costing team's subsequent activities.
- Work in close alignment with the Head of Product Development and cross-functional teams (Design, R&D, Merchandising, Technical Office, Raw Material teams, and Industrialization) to ensure all product specifications are correctly defined, communicated, and consistently met throughout the development process.
- Under the supervision of the direct manager, manage the full development journey for assigned styles, ensuring a smooth handover of products to relevant stakeholders and guaranteeing the complete documentation and information package required for the transition between Product Development and Industrialization teams.
- Prepare technical material reviews and related documentation for meetings, proactively anticipating risks and criticalities in collaboration with LBC, Raw Material Buyers, and Raw Material Managers.
- Coordinate the validation and creation of master colors for all components, ensuring alignment and distribution of approved references to Fiesso, Paris teams, Quality Control, vendors, and all relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Head of Product Development in preparing product technical briefs for the Merchandising team and ensure, in alignment with the direct manager, that all materials, samples, and equipment necessary for fashion show presentations are properly prepared and delivered on time.
Timely & Transparent Information Flow
- Act as the primary conduit for all product development information related to the assigned collection, ensuring timely and accurate communication with all key stakeholders.
- Facilitate efficient and clear communication with factories, tanneries, design teams, technical teams, merchandising, raw material teams, and industrialization functions throughout the development cycle.
- Send technical specifications and material requirements to tanneries and suppliers, follow up on approvals and signatures, and promptly alert Quality and Compliance teams in case of exceptions or critical issues.
- Ensure all related documents shared at an interdepartmental level (e.g., tech packs, material specifications, sample comments, color validations, and BOM updates) are fully aligned with PLM data and reflect all approved changes at any given time.
- Anticipate stakeholders’ information needs and proactively provide updates to avoid delays, misunderstandings, or operational risks.
Deadline Adherence & Calendar Alignment
- Work in strict collaboration with the line Manager to ensure full respect of all deadlines and critical path milestones within the predefined development calendar.
- Proactively monitor progress for assigned styles, identifying any potential challenges to timely delivery and escalating them to the Manager when necessary.
- Support the Manager in ensuring the on-time delivery of prototypes, samples, color validations, and materials required for fittings, showrooms, and production milestones.
Raw Material & Sample Coordination
- Coordinate raw material orders for all prototypes and final samples related to the assigned collection, ensuring timely procurement and alignment with development timelines.
- Manage sample tracking and approval processes, communicating feedback effectively to factories and suppliers.
- Monitor the availability and conformity of materials and components, ensuring alignment between approved standards, production requirements, and quality expectations.
THE CANDIDATE
- BA degree with 4+ years’ experience in shoes Product Development
- Proven proficiency in PLM systems, with a strong understanding of data accuracy and the importance of timely updates.
- Demonstrated exceptional precision and meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of product development.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Highly organized with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in close alignment with a Manager and cross-functional teams to achieve common goals, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
- Understanding of the footwear development process, from design concept to production.
- Computer literate – Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Full proficiency in written and spoken Italian, very good knowledge of the English language, written and spoken.
- Ability to travel as required.
