Senior SAP Developer

Position: Senior SAP Developer / SAP Architect (Modern & Legacy)

Level: Middle (at least 4 years’ experience)

Location: Remote

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior SAP Developer / SAP Architect to join an international and innovation-driven environment. The ideal candidate has strong expertise across both classical SAP development and modern SAP architectures , with the ability to operate seamlessly between legacy ECC systems and next-generation SAP ecosystems such as S/4HANA and SAP BTP .

This role is ideal for a professional passionate about SAP modernization, clean core principles, cloud-native extensibility, DevOps practices, and AI-assisted development.

You will work closely with cross-functional and global teams, contributing to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and future-proof SAP solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain SAP solutions across ECC, S/4HANA, and SAP BTP environments
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Develop and enhance ABAP applications following modern SAP development standards
• Support modernization initiatives while ensuring compatibility with existing SAP landscapes
• Promote clean core principles and SAP extensibility best practices
• Collaborate with international teams across multiple SAP modules (SD, MM, APO/IBP, Purchasing, etc.)
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and development standards
• Contribute to DevOps adoption and CI/CD practices within SAP environments
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and architecture guidelines
• Support performance optimization, troubleshooting, and debugging activities

Required Technical Skills:

Core SAP Development

• Strong expertise in classical ABAP and ABAP for HANA
• Object-Oriented ABAP
• User Exits, BAdIs, implicit/explicit enhancements
• ALV Reporting (classical and interactive)
• Smart Forms and Adobe Forms
• SAP Data Dictionary design

Integration & Data Management

• ALE / IDocs / RFC / BAPI
• Data migration tools (LSMW, batch input, call transactions)
• OData Services (V2/V4)

Modern SAP Technologies

• CDS Views
• AMDP
• RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
• CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
• SAPUI5 / Fiori Elements
• SAP Clean Core & Extensibility approaches

Performance & Quality

• Performance tuning and debugging
• Secure, scalable, and maintainable coding practices

DevOps & Modern Engineering (Highly Valued)

• Experience with Git-based version control in SAP environments (e.g., abapGit)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar platforms
• Understanding of DevOps principles applied to SAP development lifecycles

AI-Assisted Development (Strong Plus)

• Exposure to SAP Joule or AI-enabled SAP ecosystems
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows:
• code generation
• automated testing
• refactoring
• documentation support
