Overview
Clivet SpA , is now looking for a new colleague who will join ourR&D Team asSenior Solution Architect. What will this role involve?
Responsibilities
- Lead the development for the data center CPCS solution: Drive the end-to-end architectural design, technical specification, and implementation roadmap for Chiller Plant Control System (CPCS) solutions, ensuring alignment with client requirements and performance goals (e.g., PUE reduction).
- Define and document technical standards: Establish, maintain, and communicate technical documentation, design specifications, functional requirements, and testing protocols for the CPCS platform and related components.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the principal technical expert on chiller plant optimization, control strategies, sequence of operations (SOO), and integration requirements, both internally and when interfacing with clients, engineering firms, and vendors.
- Oversee Solution Integration and Testing: Guide the integration of CPCS with broader Building Management Systems (BMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms, and other critical facility controls, and oversee validation and commissioning processes.
- Evaluate and Select Technologies: Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate hardware and software for the CPCS solution stack, including components from various major vendors.
- Drive Performance Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the CPCS solution's performance, reliability, and energy efficiency through advanced control algorithms and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Mentorship and Team Support: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams involved in the deployment and maintenance of the CPCS solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in controls engineering, solution architecture, or systems integration, with a significant focus on large-scale industrial or critical facility HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with commonly used CPCS platforms: In-depth working knowledge and practical experience with Chiller Plant Control Systems from major industry vendors, including but not limited to Siemens, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, and others.
- Deep understanding of HVAC system and chiller plant control logics: Expert-level knowledge of chilled water system components (chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers), their operating characteristics, and complex control sequences.
- Understand how to optimize the chiller plant operation to achieve better performance: Proven ability to implement and refine control strategies aimed at improving system PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness), reducing operational costs, and ensuring high availability.
- Experience with the CPCS for data center is highly preferred: Prior, substantial experience in designing, implementing, or commissioning CPCS solutions specifically within mission-critical data center environments.
- Fluent English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential for technical documentation, client presentations, and internal collaboration.
- Strong Technical Communication and Leadership: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements and effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams in solution delivery.
