We are looking to hire a talented Staff Engineer to develop and manage our Big Data solutions. In this role, you will be required to design and implement Big Data tools and frameworks, data-intensive applications, and cloud platforms.
To ensure success as a Big Data Engineer, you should have in-depth knowledge of distributed computing technologies and top problem-solving skills.

Salary: 62.5K - 72.5K + up to 8K bonus

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyzes, designs, and implements complex systems
  2. Challenges team processes, looking for ways to improve
  3. Mentors junior engineers via pairing, design, and code review
  4. Builds software solutions by adhering to our quality standards about SDLC
  5. Makes active efforts to stay up-to-date with technologies
  6. Leads the technical design of complex systems
  7. Understands and optimizes system performances
  8. Takes the initiative to fix issues before they become problems
  9. Delivers complex systems, well-baked, and almost bug-free
  10. Proactively identifies problems with requirements and project plans
  11. Becomes an expert in one technological area
  12. Researches and proposes new technologies
  13. Detects possible performance bottlenecks
  14. Known for drama-free launches
  15. Can jump into old projects and fix them
  16. Influences the technical and business roadmap of services/products/projects

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  2. 7+ years of experience in the field
  3. In-depth knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, and similar frameworks
  4. Proficiency in Java and Scala
  5. Expertise in cloud-native technologies, IaC, and Docker tools
  6. Excellent project management skills
  7. Excellent communication skills
  8. Proactivity
  9. Business and functional understanding
  10. Team player
  11. Ability to solve complex networking, data, and software issues
  12. Leadership capabilities
