Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates global infrastructure. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer focuses on ensuring high quality and reliability of equipment from vendors, supporting AWS engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Supplier Quality roadmap for complex electrical/mechanical infrastructure equipment to meet technical and quality requirements.
  • Manage complete equipment lifecycle quality, working closely with suppliers, engineering, procurement, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform thorough on‑site audits to ensure suppliers’ quality systems, products, and processes meet AWS Quality and product specification requirements.
  • Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Programs, track supplier performance, set KPIs.
  • Develop critical‑to‑quality parameters, perform inspections and functional testing for complex equipment.
  • Review historical failures, design changes, lessons learned to update specifications.
  • Lead root cause analysis on complex equipment and critical components, collaborating with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
  • Evaluate and validate root cause analysis reports from a technical perspective.
  • Develop new product and supplier qualification plans, managing quality program from prototyping to mass production.
  • Analyze failures, produce technical reports for design and specification improvements.
  • Manage concurrent projects across multiple regions.
  • Demonstrate a can‑do attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Travel internationally and domestically 30–50% of time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years in a quality management function with direct interaction with suppliers.
  • 8+ years in Electrical or Mechanical product manufacturing and supplier quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • 8+ years working with external suppliers.
  • Experience with data center operations and infrastructure equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple qualification activities and development schedules.

Benefits and Compensation

Compensation: $136,600–$184,800 USD annually (location based). Salary includes a base salary, sign‑on payments, and restricted stock units.
