Position Summary
The (e)V Platform Engineer is responsible for the technical leadership and execution of a specific (e)V system of systems (vehicle) platform. This role ensures the integration, performance and lifecycle value of the platform, coordinating across multiple engineering domains (mechanical, electrical, software and controls, etc.) to deliver a cohesive and innovative solution aligned with customer and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership & Integration:
- Own the technical execution of a designated platform, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer requirements.
- Drive and manage the architecture, integration and performance of the platform across its entire lifecycle.
- Ensure system-of-systems coherence, managing interfaces between subsystems and components.
System Architecture & Requirements:
- Define and manage system-level requirements and interfaces across mechanical, electrical, software and control domains.
- Support the development of system architecture, ensuring alignment with platform strategy and customer needs.
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, interface definitions and validation plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with Product Strategy, Product Line Engineers, Software & Control, FuSa and Digital Transformation teams.
- Act as the technical interface between internal stakeholders and external customers.
Project Execution:
- Lead and coordinate the design, development and validation of platform-level integrated solutions.
- Ensure timely delivery of milestones, managing risks and resolving technical issues.
- Support demo vehicle development and validation activities.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the technology roadmap by scouting and integrating new technologies.
- Promote data-driven decision-making and model-based engineering practices.
- Support sustainability initiatives by incorporating eco-design principles and circular economy models.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or related).
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle systems engineering or platform development.
- Strong understanding of electric and hybrid vehicle architectures.
- Experience with system integration, requirements management and validation.
- Knowledge of digital engineering tools, simulation and model-based design
Hard Skills:
- Experience in Off-Highway or commercial vehicle applications.
- Understanding of company competition, their products and potential customer application.
Considered As a plus:
- Familiarity with Functional Safety (FuSa) standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO 13849).
- Knowledge of digital engineering tools, simulation and model-based design.
- Multilingual capabilities (Italian, English, Dutch, etc).
- Experience with electric or hybrid vehicle platforms.
Soft Skills:
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
