- Reporting to: Engineering & Construction Manager Italy
- Based in: Rome, Italy
- Open opportunity: Senior Technical Project Manager Manager
The selected professional will be responsible for leading and overseeing all engineering activities related to utility‑scale photovoltaic and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Italy, covering the full project lifecycle: development, design, construction, and commissioning.
What will you do?
- Lead engineering for PV and BESS projects from early‑stage to development, permitting, construction, and commissioning
- Act as technical reference for grid connection, layout optimization, yield assessments, and technology selection
- Support permitting, due diligence, and M&A processes
- Validate designs from co‑developers, consultants, and EPCs
- Review RFIs and design changes; support commissioning and performance validation
- Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and bankability requirements
- Drive CAPEX optimization and support investment decisions with technical‑economic analysis
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, and commercial teams
- Lead BESS‑specific engineering: sizing, integration, safety compliance, and grid code requirements
- Manage technical interfaces with EPCs, grid operators, lenders, and authorities
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Prepare technical reports for management and investors
What do we need?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering Lead in utility‑scale PV and/or BESS projects.
- Proven experience in project development, design review, CAPEX analysis, and construction‑phase engineering management.
- Strong knowledge of PV and BESS technologies, grid integration, and EPC project execution.
- Experience working with co‑developers, EPC contractors, and international project teams.
- Proficiency in English and Italian. Knowledge of Spanish will be considered a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
