We are currently supporting a cutting-edge photonics semiconductor company in the search for a Senior Technician / Equipment Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a highly hands-on position within a small-scale, advanced manufacturing environment, focused on equipment operation, maintenance, and reliability. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily fab activities while also interfacing with suppliers and contributing to technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor manufacturing equipment and supporting facility systems.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve equipment issues.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Support equipment installation, qualification, relocation, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate closely with process engineers to ensure equipment performance and process stability.
  • Interface with external vendors and service providers during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Support the management of suppliers, service contracts, and external maintenance services.
  • Contribute to technical projects related to equipment improvements and installations.
  • Manage spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability of critical components.
  • Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards, safety regulations, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in semiconductor fabs, pilot lines, or cleanroom environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience on complex equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of semiconductor processes (CMOS knowledge is a plus).
  • Experience working with external suppliers and service engineers.
  • Familiarity with maintenance procedures, spare parts management, and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Intermediate level of English (written and spoken).

Position Overview

  • No direct team management responsibility.
  • Involvement in supplier coordination and service activities at an operational level.
  • Contribution to technical projects (execution and coordination).
  • Strong focus on hands-on technical activities within the fab environment.
