We are currently supporting a cutting-edge photonics semiconductor company in the search for a Senior Technician / Equipment Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a highly hands-on position within a small-scale, advanced manufacturing environment, focused on equipment operation, maintenance, and reliability. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily fab activities while also interfacing with suppliers and contributing to technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor manufacturing equipment and supporting facility systems.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve equipment issues.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Support equipment installation, qualification, relocation, and upgrades.
- Collaborate closely with process engineers to ensure equipment performance and process stability.
- Interface with external vendors and service providers during maintenance and repair activities.
- Support the management of suppliers, service contracts, and external maintenance services.
- Contribute to technical projects related to equipment improvements and installations.
- Manage spare parts and consumables, ensuring availability of critical components.
- Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards, safety regulations, and cleanroom protocols.
- Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven hands-on experience in semiconductor fabs, pilot lines, or cleanroom environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience on complex equipment.
- Basic knowledge of semiconductor processes (CMOS knowledge is a plus).
- Experience working with external suppliers and service engineers.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures, spare parts management, and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Intermediate level of English (written and spoken).
Position Overview
- No direct team management responsibility.
- Involvement in supplier coordination and service activities at an operational level.
- Contribution to technical projects (execution and coordination).
- Strong focus on hands-on technical activities within the fab environment.
