Senior Telematic Sw Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Telematics Software Engineer, you lead embedded software architecture for construction equipment telematics, coordinating with systems, verification, cloud, and program management teams. You will drive technical solutions, ensure robust design, and support issue resolution across cross‑functional partners. You’ll apply your expertise in embedded Linux and telematics to deliver reliable, scalable software on fielded platforms. This role offers impact through end‑to‑end ownership and collaboration with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Understand telematics platform designs across hardware, BSP, framework, and application software
• Create detailed software documentation
• Support integration with external suppliers and internal teams, analyze defects, and provide fixes
• Develop software models from requirements using Model Based Design for reusability and maintainability
• Participate in resource planning, project scheduling, and safety analyses as needed
• Document and trace activities using corporate tools and repositories
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teammates to maximize quality and ensure timely delivery
• Assist customer/field support and monitor system performance to guide improvements
• Travel up to 10% for troubleshooting
• Provide technical leadership, architectural governance, and decision‑making
• Prioritize tasks and align across E2E ownership
• Conduct design reviews and support quality and releases
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
• Mentor team members and support cross‑team coordination
• Lead root cause analysis across domains
• Engage in cross‑functional alignment and governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field with 5+ years of experience; Master in Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of engineering experience
• Proficiency in C++
• Embedded Linux experience with deep knowledge of Linux internals, IPC, D‑Bus, and driver interfacing
• Telematics and connectivity experience (CAN bus/socketCAN, MQTT, HTTP/gRPC, LTE/5G, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth)
• IoT ecosystems experience, cloud integration (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub), data serialization (Protobuf, JSON), and OTA updates
• Strong problem analysis and problem‑solving skills
• Fluent English
• Experience with Model Based Design and cross‑functional coordination
