What you will do
As a Should Cost Engineer Intern, you will support in the following activities:
- Develop should-cost models for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components using technical specifications and market data.
- Analyze components to identify manufacturing processes (e.G., stamping, injection molding, machining) and estimate associated costs.
- Apply regression analysis and other statistical methods to validate cost estimates and uncover cost patterns.
- Leverage AI-based tools to support model development, including prompt engineering for insight extraction and task automation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.G., Engineering, Procurement) to refine models and validate underlying assumptions.
- Document methodologies clearly and present findings in a structured and comprehensible format.
- Act as a strategic interface between technical understanding and cost prediction in an international context.
What you need to succeed
- Student or graduate in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills. Italian is considered a plus.
- Solid skills in Microsoft Excel, including functions and formulas like:
Pivot tables, VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP - Knowledge of programming languages like VBA and Python (with libraries:
TensorFlow and anda) is considered a plus - A strong interest in artificial intelligence and neural networks is considered a plus
