U-Care Medical is a fast-growing Digital-Health Startup, Spin-off of Politecnico di Torino, and accelerated by Mayo Clinic Institute. We develop AI-Software for the Intensive Care Unit to support clinicians in preventing, managing, and treating serious complications.


Role Description and responsabilities


We’re looking for a talented Software Engineer to contribute to the development, implementation, and customization of our software solutions. In this role, you’ll work closely with both management and IT teams to define technical priorities and deliver life-saving solutions that align with organizational goals and have an impact in patient care. You’ll also contribute to maintaining a dynamic knowledge base of programming practices that support an efficient and scalable IT infrastructure.


  • Lead software projects and provide technical support for U-Care medical solutions.
  • Design, implement, and manage customer support processes for software and associated technologie
  • Develop detailed technical specifications for customer-specific features and customizations.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation to ensure compliance with CE marking, legal requirements, contracts, and internal QMS standards.
  • Act as the primary interface with customers and third parties, managing project activities from kickoff through final validation.
  • Work closely with Product and Development managers to plan and deliver enhancements tailored to customer needs.
  • Frontend Development: Design and implement intuitive user interfaces to enhance user experience, using modern frameworks such as React or similar;
  • Backend Development: Develop and maintain server-side applications and APIs, leveraging technologies like C# and .Net
  • Database Management: Design and optimize databases using PostgreSQL or similar technologies;
  • System Integration: collaborate with our Software Development Team and external parties to integrate our solution in the clinical practice using standards such as HL7
  • Integration of AI Models: Collaborate with the data science team to integrate machine learning models into the platform and ensure seamless functionality.
  • Testing and Debugging: Ensure the reliability and quality of the software by conducting thorough testing and resolving bugs in a timely manner.


Requirements and skills:


  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Good knowledge of ReactJS and NextJS (or similar)
  • Good knowledge of C#, .Net and PostgreSQL or similar technologies
  • Understanding of the web development process (design, development and deployment)
  • Familiarity with UI/UX tools (e.g. Figma or similar)
  • Familiarity wih testing methodologies and tools for frontend development


You will be the perfect fit if:


  • You are a graduate in computer engineering (Master’s degree) with few years of working experience (3-5 years)
  • You have project management skills for following software integration activities from definition of technical specifications to live deployment
  • Knowledge of medical device connectivity and HL7 standard (IHE, FHIR is a plus).
  • Strong experience with software installation, IT troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • You are passionate about healthcare software and have experience in this field
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
