Role Introduction
The SUMS Governance is responsible for the R156 Software Update Management System (SUMS) within the Company.
He/She oversees the application of SUMS processes and RXSWIN management to ensure compliance with software update regulations and standards.
He/She has a strong background in automotive software engineering and software update management, with solid knowledge of UNECE R156 and ISO 24089 – Software Update Engineering.
He/She has good knowledge of Cybersecurity Engineering (UNECE R155, ISO/SAE 21434) and Functional Safety Engineering (ISO 26262), as well as Company Product Development and Change Management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and maintain SUMS Governance Processes and Procedures together with cross-departmental stakeholders
- Lead periodic SUMS Steering Committees to ensure alignment among involved stakeholders and management to review software update governance status, critical issues, and continuous improvement status
- Ensure coherence between SUMS Governance Processes, Company Policies, and software update technical procedures.
- Ensure awareness on SUMS processes and requirements through trainings to the specific Company functions and involved departments
- Manage compliance audits for R156 certification of the SUMS
- Collect periodic KPIs to monitor software update execution and deployment effectiveness for Company products
- Address software update issues and deviations for Company products, managing escalation and involvement of other functions such as Quality and Homologation when escalation is required, across the entire lifecycle.
- Manage cross-departmental specialists in case of software update incidents or field issues
- Cooperate with other Company functions (e.g. Purchasing, Legal) involved in supplier management to ensure compliance with software update requirements along the supply chain
- Use lessons learned to continuously improve SUMS Governance Processes, when applicable
- Cooperate with Company functions owning the Quality Management System to ensure correct integration of SUMS Processes into QMS and Company tools (Toolchain)
- Monitor the application of software update processes along the entire lifecycle through dedicated audits
