Mackinnon Bruce International is currently supporting a fast-growing European renewable energy developer headquartered in Spain. They’re active across the full value chain — from development through to operation — with a multi-gigawatt pipeline spanning solar PV, energy storage, and emerging renewable technologies.
The business is backed by strong financial partners, has an ambitious international expansion strategy, and is currently strengthening its in-house technical and delivery teams to support this growth in Italy.
They are looking for an experienced Solar PV Engineer to support projects throughout their development and delivery phases. This role will have a strong focus on reviewing and supporting engineering documentation during project execution and ensuring alignment with internal standards and local technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- System Design & Layout: Support in designing solar PV systems, from early-stage layout planning to defining electrical configurations and component sizing.
- Permitting Support: Address conditions from local authorities related to final project approvals, including liaising with permitting bodies and municipalities.
- Technical Review: Conduct yield analysis, technical due diligence, and evaluate design proposals.
- Execution Oversight: Monitor project implementation to ensure build quality, compliance with specifications, and timelines are met.
- Standards Compliance: Verify that installations meet national safety regulations and industry standards.
- Documentation Control: Create and check engineering drawings, system schematics, and technical reports.
- Team Collaboration: Cooperate closely with in-house project teams, procurement personnel, and external suppliers.
Requirements\Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering).
- Solid technical experience with utility-scale solar projects in Italy.
- Familiar with simulation tools (e.g. PVsyst, GIS platforms), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- In-depth understanding of Italian grid codes and regulatory procedures.
- Effective communication skills in both Italian and English; Spanish language skills are a bonus.
