Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on professional experience in the Earth Observation domain.
  • Deep knowledge of EO source data, data processing techniques, and operational EO applications.
  • Familiarity with EO data catalogues and OGC standards
  • Proven technical competence in Cloud and Big Data, including parallel and distributed processing.
  • Hands-on experience with major Cloud provider.
  • Experience with container technologies and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of modern software development practices: TDD, CI/CD, code review processes
  • Fluent spoken and written English (required for international project collaboration).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree and/or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with ESA, Copernicus, or other space agency programme frameworks.
  • Knowledge of geospatial processing libraries (e.g., GDAL, SNAP, rasterio, xarray).
  • Experience with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Dask) in an EO context.
  • Familiarity with STAC (SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog) and cloud-optimised geospatial formats (e.g., Cloud-Optimised GeoTIFF, Zarr).
  • Previous experience in a client-facing technical role or pre-sales support.
