Job Description
Datalogic is looking for a General Manager for its Solution Business Unit to drive and expand its related business at a global level and across all industry segments in which it operates. The Solution Business Unit is a key strategic investment area for the company, with the ambitious plan of expanding software capabilities, ensuring that our customers get more integrated, versatile solutions that address their unique needs. ROLE MISSION
He/she will be in charge of managing the BU at global level, defining and executing the global Solution strategy, covering product development, go-to-market, sales, and partnerships, also playing a pivotal role in providing inputs and ideas to develop successful and innovative products, in order to successfully boost the revenues and margins across all the industries. The position reports directly to the VP of Data Capture Products & Solutions and will have cross-functional scope across both the DC and IA Divisions. The role requires a hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to lead both strategy and day‑to‑day execution.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Define the Solutions Roadmap for each main end-user market, designing and executing proper go-to-market model, pricing and sales strategy in collaboration with the Global Sales VPs of Data Capture.
- Execute the plan with the aim of maximizing related revenues and margins of the BU, increasing the global market share.
- Act as the voice of the market, anticipating customers’ needs and driving the product portfolio evolution in line with the end users and their needs.
- Contribute to establish and strengthen key partnerships with Partners, Resellers, Distributors and ISV
- Lead a team of approximately 30 professionals across the following functions, all reporting to the General Manager of the Solution Business Unit: R&D, Program Management, Product Marketing, Technical Support
- Own the Solution BU’s full P&L and be accountable for financial targets, including revenue, margin, and investments.
- Influence top management to drive high-level investment decisions, e.g. in Sales and R&D.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ experience in mid-to large organizations, mainly from the areas of Sales, Product Management and General Management
- A strong background in B2B industry and tech companies; experience in industrial automation, retail or transportation & logistics verticals is highly preferred
- Wide exposure to international roles in complex organizations; management of P&L highly preferred
- Confidence in leading resources in matrix organizations
- Education (School/Specialization): Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Management or related fields
- Primary Language: Fluent English
