As a protagonist in major global strategic programs, it is a technological and industrial partner of Governments, Defense Administrations, Institutions and companies.Within the **Space Division**, in the Missions & System Design – Technology, Innovation & Systems Architecture Organizational Unit, we are looking for a **Senior Systems Engineer** (EO & SoS) for our office in **Rome – Via Faustiniana.**The person will be responsible for managing system-level activities throughout all project phases (0/A–B1 and B2–E), **in particular, they will be responsible for:*** Technical management of satellite projects (EO) at system level;
* Definition and management of system requirements, including understanding, compliance, verification and validation strategies;
* Development of mission concepts, system architectures and performance models;
* Definition and management of interfaces between system elements and subsystems;
* Execution of scientific/mathematical analyses and predictive modeling to evaluate and optimize design solutions;
* Preparation of technical proposals;
* Creation, managementand control of system documentation and baselines;
* Resolution of designproblems at system level and proposal of corrective solutions;
* Support for procurement, operations and sub-supplier activities to ensure compliance with system requirements;
* Definition of end-to-end (E2E) solutions for future Earth Observation and/or SoS missions;
* Coordination of technical contributions between internal units (Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management);
**Education:*** Master's Degree in STEM disciplines (preferably Aerospace Engineering)**Required experience level:*** Senior: 5 – 10 years of experience in the role**Technical skills and knowledge:*** E2E system engineering (EO) expertise;
* Experience in Earth Observation missions;
* Knowledge of EO applications and technologies;
* Knowledge of opticaland/or radar payloads and missions, including performance analysis;
* Knowledge of architectures, techniques and technologies of transparent and processed/regenerative satellite transponders for space-to-space and space-to-earth communications;
* Experience in developing E2E simulations of EO mission performance;
* Experience with commercial and institutional clients;
* Knowledge of ESA processes and ECSS standards for design, development, verification, validation and integration;
* Knowledge of CCSDS protocols at Network, Data-Link, Physical and Bundle level;
* Knowledge of AIV processes for space missions;
* Knowledge of technologies and techniques in optical, RF, baseband and antenna fields for space and ground;
