Amazon is a leader in developing hardware such as Kindle, Echo and FireTV. The reliability team aims to develop reliable and robust products that delight our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for the reliability engineering of the Kuiper Customer Terminal as part of Project Kuiper, an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide broadband connectivity. As a reliability engineer on the Kuiper Customer Terminal, you will develop technology and mechanisms to resolve complex reliability challenges. You should have a strong understanding of Design for Reliability, reliability statistics, reliability tests, and indoor/outdoor consumer electronics, to influence design for reliability.
Location/Salary: USA, WA, Bellevue - 137,300.00 - 185,700.00 USD annually
Responsibilities
- Define new test specifications, methodology and test coverage to assure semiconductor components can meet Amazon product reliability requirements.
- Identify and validate product risks via Design for Reliability mechanisms and work with design teams to mitigate them during development.
- Identify and validate semiconductor component risks and work with cross functional teams to mitigate these risks.
- Perform reliability prediction of semiconductor failure mechanisms and scale it to cover the entire product lifetime in field application.
- Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test.
- Be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Experience with the project management of technical projects.
