Johnson & Johnson MedTech is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager, EMEA Communications, Surgery, located in the UK or Rome. This is a hybrid in-person and remote role.

Overall, Purpose of this Job :
Reporting to the Director, EMEA Communications, Surgery, this critical role will manage strategic communication for the Surgery business across the EMEA region. This includes internal and external communications, covering employee and culture communications, executive communications, strategic messaging and narrative development, thought leadership, media relations, social media, and campaign activations.
The Senior Manager will work closely with the Director to serve as a trusted counselor to the Surgery Region Leadership Team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance organizational priorities, drive strategy alignment, and support commercial goals. A deep understanding of the business, technology development, strategy, and market opportunities is essential to inform an integrated global communications plan aligned with business objectives.
This is a highly visible role, working in close collaboration with Johnson & Johnson regional communications teams, MedTech global communications, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Legal, and leadership across the organization.
Key Responsibilities & Impact :
- Develop and implement an integrated global communications plan supporting Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s reputation as a leader in Surgery and the EMEA Surgery business objectives.
- Coordinate communication strategies for new product launches, medical evidence, and innovation updates.
- Advise the Region Leadership team on communication programs and executive thought leadership to support commercial success and organizational priorities.
- Lead employee engagement and culture communications to foster a positive and productive workplace environment.
- Manage media relations, including earned and paid media, social media channels, and issue management.
Qualifications :
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in communication, journalism, PR, public affairs, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of experience managing communications within a company, NGO, government agency, or PR agency.
- Strong ability to build authentic relationships with executives and scientists, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
- A proven track record in public relations, corporate communication, science communication, or media relations.
- Deep understanding of media, business analytics, digital and social platforms, with experience in consumer, professional/trade, and social media.
- Experience in internal communications programs that build organizational culture and align with business objectives.
- Experience managing budgets, agency partnerships, and resource allocation for large projects.
- Experience in healthcare communications is preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
