Job Overview
Senior Operations Manager – responsible for people management, process improvement, budget control and operational excellence in a fast‑paced, large‑scale fulfillment center. Leads a dynamic team of Operations and Area Managers to achieve safety, productivity and customer experience goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns and delivers the operational budget for the functional area, including safety, productivity, financial and labor planning.
- Provides strategic long‑term planning (3, 6, and 12 months) for labor, rate forecasting and peak‑season initiatives.
- Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and meet or exceed business objectives, including building‑wide strategies.
- Establishes objectives and metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience.
- Sets clear goals, measures performance, provides feedback and holds leaders accountable.
- Mentors and develops leaders and staff, participating in recruiting and promotion decisions.
- Collaborates with support functions (HR, Finance, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, IT) to secure resources for projects.
Additional Job Elements
- Lift and move totes up to 49 lb each; stand and walk up to 10‑12 hrs; bend, lift, stretch, and reach regularly.
- Work in varied noise, lighting, and temperature environments; access all areas of the building including ladders, stairs, and gangways.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of direct management experience with salaried and hourly staff in manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics.
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies.
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a preferred degree in Engineering, Operations or a related technical field; MBA or Master’s degree a plus.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
- Interest in long‑term career development across multiple locations.
- Prior leadership development training or participation.
- Track record of leading operations of at least 100 employees and developing staff into higher leadership roles.

Salary range: $135,000 – $182,700 annually.
