Staff Software Engineer, Product Engineering, EU

Hi! I’m Abhik, Ashby’s Co-Founder and VP of Engineering. We’re looking for an ambitious full‑stack engineer who is laser‑focused on solving customer problems and building long‑term solutions. Our team operates with a blend of startup agility and the scale of a growth‑stage company, with tens of thousands of daily users and strong growth metrics.

About The Role

As a Product Engineer you’ll own a significant portion of one of our products and manage projects end‑to‑end. You will research competitors, write product specs, produce wireframes, and develop feature implementations that are integral to our platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead product feature development from concept through launch.
• Write detailed technical specifications and wireframes.
• Build and maintain robust, scalable code across the stack.
• Collaborate with Designers and Product Managers on user research and feature prioritization.
• Integrate new features into existing infrastructure and ensure high quality through testing and code reviews.
• Continuously refactor and improve codebases, including tooling and abstractions.
• Present progress and gather feedback from stakeholders and customers.

• Comfortable working on all layers of the stack.
• Experience solving ambiguous product and technical problems.
• Balanced sense of speed and quality, able to ship high‑quality code quickly.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills—able to shape decisions with stakeholders.
• Ambitious and continually looking to improve and grow.
• Experience with ownership of end‑to‑end projects.

Interview Process

• Introduction call with Hiring Manager (15‑30 minutes).
• Technical screen with pair programming (1 hour).
• Three non‑coding rounds focusing on product thinking, technical design, and infrastructure (3 hours 15 minutes total).

First Three Months

You will receive a streamlined onboarding experience: a single‑script development setup, immediate impact on production features, and a 30‑60‑90 day review cycle. A peer mentor will guide you and facilitate knowledge transfer.

Compensation Range: €141K – €226K
