Offer Description

The project will investigate the syntax and morphosyntax of Khotanese, with particular emphasis on the verbal system and its development across the attested stages of the language. Adopting a diachronic and variationist approach, it will examine changes in clause structure, agreement patterns, and verbal paradigms, as well as the shift from synthetic to more analytic constructions. Special attention will be paid to the interaction between textual variation and sociolinguistic context. The candidate will also contribute to TEI encoding and SQL database management.
