Mission
Integrated into the RAM department within the RAMS unit, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for RAMS governance. Your missions will include:
- Leading the execution of the RAM Programme for railway systems, subsystems, and products, in accordance with requirements, guidelines, and standards.
- Coordinating with prime contractors and subcontractors/vendors' RAM staff, producing RAM analysis and verification of RAM requirements.
- Verifying and signing off on design, installation, and commissioning of all RAM-related system/subsystem/product requirements, including Train Control, Passenger Vehicles, Service Vehicles, Traction Electrification, Communications, UPS, Platform Screen Gates, Fire Detection, etc.
- Supporting the Engineering/Product Development team to finalize designs ensuring maximum Reliability and Availability, compliant with RAM Standards.
- Assisting the Commissioning Manager in identifying and prioritizing activities to ensure minimum RAM performance levels throughout various phases.
- Performing RAM governance activities and coordinating RAM referents for each involved technology.
- Contributing to the delivery of systems/subsystems/products in line with schedule and budget.
- Reporting progress, deadlines, and budget status to the Project RAMS Manager or Project Manager.
Accountabilities
Ensure RAM activities are executed throughout project, bid, and product lifecycles, following Hitachi Rail processes and guidelines. Responsibilities include:
- Establishing RAM Programmes for projects and products.
- Supporting and planning RAM activities.
- Managing RAM activities and budgets.
- Providing early feedback on design to the project/product team.
- Performing Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis.
- Applying reliability modeling techniques such as RBDs, FTA, Markov Chains, Petri-Nets.
- Conducting Life Cycle Cost analysis.
- Predicting product reliability according to IEC standards.
- Demonstrating RAM performance in operation.
- Applying the FRACAS process.
- Ensuring suppliers receive appropriate RAM requirements.
- Managing interfaces with departments, suppliers, partners, and clients.
- Developing, improving, and implementing RAM standards and processes.
Required skills
- 5 to 10 years of experience in RAMS.
- Knowledge of international standards applicable to the railway domain, e.g., EN 50126.
- Background in Reliability Engineering for industrial products/systems (Railway, Aerospace, etc.).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Isograph Reliability Workbench or equivalent tools.
Education / Qualifications
Technical Degree or equivalent technical background.
Languages
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of French or Spanish (spoken and written) is a plus.
