Based in our headquarter office in Carpi, Modena (Italy) we’re looking for a motivated and talented Tax Specialist to join our Finance Team.

The person will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with indirect tax regulations and overseeing the overall tax compliance of the group companies. The ideal candidate has experience in corporate environments, preferably in the retail or fashion industry, with a strong focus on local and international tax regulations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Indirect Tax Compliance : Prepare and file VAT, OSS, and WHT returns accurately and on time. Maintain VAT registers, reconcile tax accounts, and ensure timely tax payments. Assist in audits and monitor regulatory changes.
• Tax Compliance : Maintain tax calendar, manage tax obligations and respond to public authority requests, and handle claims related to indirect taxes (e.g., stamp duty, waste tax). Develop and maintain clear tax documentation.
• Tax Advisory : Provide guidance on VAT treatment for sales and purchase transactions, support the commercial team with tax implications of contracts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes.
• Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements for indirect tax reporting and compliance, with a focus on automation and digitalization.

SKILLS AND ATTITUDES:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax compliance or a related field, either in multinational companies or professional firms.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, WHT, indirect tax regulations, and tax accounting principles.
• Experience working in multinational environments or with cross-border transactions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Organized and able to meet deadlines.
• Fluency in English.
