The research project aims to develop all the necessary elements to build an in-depth knowledge framework on the material recovery chain from the municipal waste management cycle in the Emilia-Romagna region. The first step is to create an information system that reconstructs the evolution of separate waste collection for each fraction, the quantities collected, the quantities present in municipal waste (estimated based on the best available data), the average quality for the area of ??interest for the study, the economic returns of the collection service provider, and those attributed to deductions from service costs, for at least a decade. The study will be conducted based on an updated literature review and the identification of cases of excellence at the European level, and will be developed using data provided by Atersir.
