Optify Search are currently partnered with a leading global manufacturer of specialty ingredients, who are looking to hire a Technical Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of their specialty chemicals and personal care portfolio across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Drive commercial growth across key strategic accounts, developing long-term partnerships and expanding market share
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, positioning the business as a trusted partner in innovation and formulation development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through consultative engagement around market trends, product performance, and customer needs
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams including R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain to deliver successful projects and aligned account strategies
- Support customers on technical discussions related to formulations and ingredient applications
- Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and technical seminars to enhance market presence
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning to support sustainable growth
Qualifications
- Scientific Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in technical sales, business development, or account management within specialty chemicals, personal care ingredients, or oleochemicals
- Technical & Commercial Expertise: Strong understanding of formulations, ingredient functionality, and market dynamics , with the ability to translate technical concepts into commercial opportunities
- Professional Competencies: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially driven with a strategic mindset
- Comfortable operating in a cross-functional, international environment
- Highly autonomous, proactive, and results-oriented
