Technical infrastructure program manager, AGIS Interconnection - APAC

Job ID: | Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited (Singapore)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure, providing the foundation that keeps the cloud running. We deliver and maintain the comprehensive infrastructure ecosystem including interconnection services, caching solutions, and network capacity that ensures our customers have continuous access to AWS services.

You'll join a dynamic team of technical professionals within the Global Connectivity Infrastructure Development (GCID) organization as a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM). You'll be responsible for managing regional interconnection programs and implementing workflows. You'll support regional initiatives including interconnection solutions implementation, business automation tools deployment, and cache optimization.

In this role, you will execute regional strategies alongside Business Development teams to optimize traffic management and interconnection delivery. You'll coordinate with external partners on capacity planning, implement upgrades within established frameworks, and develop utilization reports. Through methodical execution, you'll manage regional interconnection projects while adapting existing processes for improved efficiency.

Your ability to identify risks within established parameters and implement mitigation plans will be essential. You'll maintain clear documentation, engage effectively with stakeholders, and support knowledge sharing initiatives. The role requires collaboration across time zones while knowing when to seek guidance on complex decisions.

This position requires someone who can work independently within defined frameworks, build strong relationships with partners, and implement solutions to problems. You'll contribute to delivering high standards while ensuring reliable capacity for our customers. You'll thrive in an inclusive culture that values consistent execution and continuous improvement.

The position sits within the Interconnect team of GCID, focusing on implementing interconnect network solutions that support Amazon's regional infrastructure needs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with regional leadership and stakeholders to provide regular program updates, track operational progress, and drive resolution of implementation challenges.
  • Execute regional traffic management optimization and capacity planning initiatives by working with engineering and operations teams, ensuring effective implementation of established solutions and performance metrics.
  • Support peering and cache deployment programs through coordination of technical deliverables, partner onboarding, and alignment of implementation plans with regional Business Development requirements.
  • Manage external partner relationships and delivery quality through structured reviews, capacity planning discussions, and performance tracking to ensure service reliability standards.
  • Drive network and CDN optimization efforts by facilitating data analysis, stakeholder discussions, and implementation of improvement measures across regional infrastructure.
  • Lead multiple regional projects simultaneously, managing interdependencies and stakeholder communications while maintaining clear documentation of decisions and progress.
  • Build cross-regional collaboration through knowledge sharing initiatives, best practice implementation, and industry engagement activities that strengthen AWS's regional presence.

A day in the life

Amazon connects its global network to numerous external networks to deliver content and services to customers worldwide. This connectivity comes in two forms: direct peering with destination networks or transit through intermediary networks.

The AGIS team manages all external network relationships, securing connectivity in optimal locations. Peering arrangements are either settlement-free (SFI) or paid, with most being SFI. When necessary, the team conducts commercial negotiations to acquire paid peering or transit capacity.

Additionally, AGIS negotiates embedded caching contracts, deploying caching platforms within external networks to enhance content delivery and performance.
