The Engineering Product Manager for Electrical Systems provides strategic guidance over NPD and product lifecycle, competency management, intellectual property, and the organization’s training needs. This role ensures proper direction of engineering effort in order to align with market needs and technology strategy, with an integrated approach across all EICE verticals. Through technical leadership and collaboration, the Manager fosters growth and excellence in technology execution across the organization and serves as a key interface within Engineering Function and Product Leadership.
The Baker Hughes internal title for this role is: Staff Engineer, Systems, Product Performance Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating with Senior Principals for technology deliverables
- Ensuring governance and execution of engineering policies (product, ITO, etc.) and participating in PCB (Product Configuration Board) screening
- Contributing to EICE laboratories expansion strategy
- Supporting System Engineering in planning and monitoring the New Product Development (NPD) deck; supportive for NPD reviews with high technical risk and accountable for product sheets preparation according to the design process
- Maintaining and harmonizing Controls and Instrumentation Competency Mapping for Electrical Systems
- Collaborating with the Associate Fellow to ensure product compliance with international standards and contributing to relevant technical committees
- Monitoring product lifecycle, analyzing market trends, and identifying upgrade opportunities
- Coordinating resolution of customer issues related to Electrical systems; acting as SPT Owner for reactive cases and accountable for safety case planning and on‑time process execution
- Fostering a performance‑driven culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and technical depth
- Supporting talent development through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering with 10+ years of experience in Electrical Systems
- Solid background in engineering standardization, validation, and testing methodologies
- Proven leadership in managing natural and cross‑functional teams
- In‑depth knowledge of international standards and active involvement in technical committees
- Strategic mindset for product lifecycle management and development of standardized solutions
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to technology roadmaps aligned with market and innovation trends; familiarity with IP strategy and patent landscape analysis
- Strong capability in designing and delivering technical training and development programs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product leadership, service, procurement, legal, and innovation functions
- Strong alignment with Baker Hughes’ core values, demonstrated through consistent behaviors and actions
